H. Buchanan, M.A., is an award-winning publisher, editor and consultant. A former research fellow for the National Institutes of Health in cognitive science, she is actively involved with studying the relationship between writing and culture. She presents at conferences across the country. She is currently on the faculty of the University of Michigan-Dearborn and The College for Creative Studies.
Buchanan is a member of the he Independent Book Publishers Associatio and the past COO of the Wayne County Council for Arts, History & Humanities. She is a former State Officer for the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and a past Vice-President of the Great Lakes Independent Publishers Associaiton and American Business Women's Association (Ambassador Tri-County Chapter). She is also a member of the Charles H. Wright Museum's Women's Committee. As Executive Director of the Detroit Writer's Guild (a national nonprofit) she served writers nationwide. As freelance writer for numerous organizations, Ms. Buchanan considers writing for the U.S./South Africa Convocation one of the bright spots of her career. As an instructor, Buchanan also consults with businesses, schools and nonprofits. Aquarius Press was established in 1999.
